strongly agree with #9 - women should lift weights! disagree with #8 - heart rate monitors are not perfect, but they are extremely helpful in gauging how hard you're working. #3 is probably the most important point on exercise. if you eat like crap, or sit all day long, it doesn't matter what you do at the gym.

like most running advice and lore, the notion that you need to gradually increase your time/distance in small increments really has no foundation.
